Events

Welcome to Coffee Hour! This is a great time to say “hello” to friends and visitors. Come enjoy a cup of coffee and find out more about programs and other opportunities to help you get connected. You will find us in the Chapel immediately after the 11:00 am Sunday Worship Service.

Our YMCA Family Fun Night is on the first Sunday evening of each month from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. You are invited to come to the YMCA and play games, basketball, swim and much more. Please bring a friend or relative along to help you enjoy the facility!

Sports Teams include men’s basketball, men’s softball and coed softball teams that all play in the city league.

Social Gatherings at FCC are a fun and exciting way to meet and get acquainted with members of the congregation. Activities are always going on for the whole church or within the Sunday School groups. From these events many friendships blossom.

Spiritual Renewal Events are planned for during the year to enhance the Easter and Christmas time experience.

Advent Walk ~ Cooperatively planned by and participated in by several local churches.

Palm Sunday Walk ~ An ecumenical event that the downtown mainline churches share.

Lenten Series ~ A deeply religious and significantly inspiring event that enriches one’s faith through personal testimonies and celebration.

Friendship Day is a day when the quilters get together and make quilts from donated scraps of material for those who would otherwise not have one! They meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month. Come join in and help put a quilt together!

Holy Grounds a coffee cart and extensive menu of coffee, espresso and fruit drinks, may be found on the lower level near the west entrance. This area provides an opportunity to meet and fellowship with visitors and friends before and following the 9:30 contemporary service. Proceeds from the coffee cart go to various programs within our church.

Prayer Shawl Ministry is a small group opportunity for those who enjoy (or would like to learn) knitting or crocheting. Shawls are made, blessed and presented to those in need of comfort, support, love and solace. This group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 2:00 - 3:30 PM.

Rebuilders is a fellowship and support group for those who have suffered a loss. At a noon potluck, on the 4th Tuesday each month, those in attendance have the opportunity to share concerns and receive support and comfort from others.

Parish Health Nurse Ministry is a group of members who volunteer their time and talent to promote health within the entire church. It is made up of health care professionals, caregivers and others called by God to a ministry of service rooted in Jesus Christ's healing example. Two certified nurses head up this team. They may be contacted through the church office.
