"Reach out and touch someone . . ."
This is what we do at First Christian Church of Salem through our World Outreach. Our church has been a leader among Christian Churches of Oregon for the past years in giving to the needy. We have helped refugees, the victims of earthquakes in Mexico and California, and tornado victims in Texas. We have helped to train nurses in India. Here at home we help support the Union Gospel Mission, the Salvation Army, the Salem Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity and others as the needs arise. Through Reconciliation Funds, we have helped many disadvantaged children.

Youth Missions
Each year our Chi-Rho and CYF youth participate in at least one Mission Trip. They have fund raisers all year so that they can go and help people in need.

Senior Townhouse and “Meals on Wheels”
This is one of the many ways that our church serves the Salem Community. First Christian Church makes available its building so that meals can be prepared and distributed to the Senior Citizens in our city. Noon meals are prepared daily, Monday through Friday. A suggested donation for a meal is asked of by those who can afford to pay. This program is made possible by volunteer effort of many individuals in our church and the community.
